Belonging to the district of Braga, being the only county with connection to the ocean, it is located in the proximity of the cities of Viana do Castelo, Póvoa de Varzim, Barcelos and Braga.
Esposende is a city full of enviable heritage and an unmistakable nature, it can provide moments of great welcome for tourists and for the citizens themselves.
Considered by many visitors the Algarve in miniature, Esposende has to offer fantastic beaches, namely, those of Apulia, Ofir and Suave Mar.
It has an odd heritage, including the Castro de São Lourenço, the São João Batista Fort in the Foz do Cávado River, the Bonança Chapel in Fão, as well as the Municipal Museum of Esposende.
For lovers of sport and in regard to nautical activities, Esposende has the richest coasts to practice different modalities, especially kayaking and kite surfing.
The Gulosa Gastronomy delights all those who seek restoration, especially for its fish and seafood treatments of our seas and rivers, not forgetting the light, sweet and aromatic green wines of the farmhouse and the sweet little whistles of Fão.
